Butyric acid on its own does not survive the stomach well. BestButyric solves this in two steps: the ingredient itself is microencapsulated, and the whole thing sits inside a capsule resistant to hydrochloric acid. Together this means the sodium butyrate is not broken down in the stomach but carries on further down the digestive tract.
This is also why we do not recommend opening the capsule and pouring out the powder. The acid-resistant shell and the microcapsules are there precisely to direct where the ingredient is released. The exception is someone with real difficulty swallowing, who should discuss a convenient way of taking it with a specialist.

Sodium butyrate is a natural substance belonging to the short-chain fatty acids, produced by the gut flora through fermentation. It is often described as a functional food ingredient, because butyric acid is naturally made in the intestine. BestButyric delivers it in microencapsulated form inside an acid-resistant capsule, which is a practical way of adding a postbiotic to the daily routine of people who pay attention to how their digestive system works.
Short-chain fatty acids are produced in the intestine by the gut flora from dietary fibre. A diet rich in vegetables, fruit and pulses, together with good hydration, is what naturally supports that production.
Recommended intake: 1 capsule in the morning and 1 in the evening, after a meal. Wash down with plenty of water. Use within 60 days of opening the pack.
Storage: at room temperature, in a dry place, out of reach of small children. Protect from moisture and light.
Precautions: do not exceed the recommended daily serving. A balanced diet and a proper lifestyle are important for the functioning of the human body. For most people, no. Sodium butyrate is usually very well tolerated. More sensitive individuals may temporarily notice some bloating or discomfort, which normally passes after a few days. If it persists, reduce to 1 capsule daily for three to five days and then return to the recommended serving, or speak to a specialist.
Hypersensitivity or allergy to butyric acid or its sodium salt. If in doubt, start with a smaller serving and observe how your body responds.
BestLab products can be combined with BestButyric without concern, with the exception of formulas containing caffeine.
